New Roles to General Practice

INTRODUCTION OF NEW ROLES TO GENERAL PRACTICE

New roles are being introduced into General Practice both directly and via the Primary Care Networks.

Practice teams look very different these days and our team at Coldalhurst Lane Surgery has also had some new additional roles introduced recently.

The clinical team at Coldalhurst Lane is as follows:

2 GP partners

2 Salaried GP’s

2 GP Trainee’s

1 Practice Nurses

1 Trainee Nursing Associate

1 Health Care Assistant

We also have additional clinical staff provided through the Primary Care Network that work alongside our practice staff team. These staff are shared and work across all the practices in Tyldesley, Atherton, Boothstown and Astley TABA Primary Care Network.

We share the following staff:

First Contact Physiotherapists x 2

Pharmacists x 5

Pharmacy Technician x 1

Care Coordinator’s x 2

Health Care Assistant x 1

Community Link Workers x 3

Not all patients need to see a GP. It may be more appropriate for someone with a musculoskeletal problem to be directed to a First Contact Physiotherapist and someone enquiring about a social issue to be directed to the Community Link Worker. It is important that patients are directed to the most appropriate person or service to deal with their specific condition/request as soon as possible.
